This dilution calculator enables the user to determine volumes of dilution and/or displacement of the mud system to reach a desired % by volume solids and/or mud density (ppg). Two resulting modes are illustrated - 1) Volumes of dilution and displacement to maintain a given system volume, 2) Volume of dilution with zero displacement resulting in a total system volume
This calculator is designed to determine a quick and effective method for determining the performance of a rig's solids removal system according to the API RP 13C specifications.
Solids Removal System Performance - API RP 13C (ISO 13501)
This calculator utilizes user-input data to determine a drilling rig's current total mud dilution cost associated with mud costs and solids removal efficiencies. By entering a second data set and performing a comparative analysis, this calculator will determine if upgrading a rig's solids control system is justified based on the projected increase in solids removal efficiency and the subsequent decrease in total dilution costs.
Dilution Cost Calculator
The retort solids analysis can be used to determine the volume percent of Liquid and Solids found in a particular mud system and/or a particular phase of solids removal equipment. Results shall detail volume % oil, volume % corrected salt water, average specific gravity of total solids, volume % Low Gravity solids and volume % High Gravity solids. Note: Resulting volume % Low Gravity solids is not corrected for the MBT of a water base drilling fluid.
